The Urban Fabric series are aggregates of memory, experience and place. Created as large format photomontage artworks, they evoke the visceral experience and sensations of urban space. The LA series from 2024 portrays the industrial nature and tensions of a city typically more synonymous with glamour and fame. Using aerial shots, infrastructure and sky as a foundation for compositions they are then fragmented utilizing a grid structure inspired by photogrammetry (measurement of space) and pixels (the medium of our times) blurring the lines of what is real and unreal by altering dimension and obscuring time—reflecting the way life in LA seems to play out.
